Did a twenty minute row yesterday and walked later in the evening. The little girl across the street loves Lili, so we got a late start so she could play with the dogs. I can do about 2.5 miles. That’s it and the hill on the way home is a big piece of that. OMG, I hate taking it easy, but it must be done. Spent a good chunk of the day working around the pool while it’s draining. Getting the last of it this morning. I want it empty so I can scrub some stuff at the bottom.
It’s still cold and gray. Happy Memorial Day weekend, the end of May Gray. And the beginning of June Gloom. It’s very real. The interesting thing is that this is what the weather was like when i was a kid. We had so many years of drought that people forget what our normal is.
Keeping it short so i can keep things moving. Blob holding, muscle mass up, more rowing once I check the water level assuming it’s not done. Got some other yard stuff to do and going out for dinner tonight. Mexican. Mmmm. Usually better when I don’t have to cook it myself. Planning on something with carne asada, I think. Pics of the continuous chaos around me. I love it. Never bored, always laughing. There’s a lot of vocalizing that goes along with it. A fancy frame for the holiday. Going to put up my flag, I think. Sometimes, we need to remind people what’s behind the holiday. This is one of those years.

Row #1, 20 minutes. Going for 30 days in a row. Pun intended. Even if I only get a 10 class in, that’s good enough while we’re a bit sidelined.

Saturday morning and it is raining. Seriously? I guess I’m glad i didn’t take out the patio cushions last weekend because they would have been soaked. We did another shorter walk last night, added another little bit for 2.44 miles. It’s so weird, because it’s definitely not a real workout, but at least I’m not sitting at home on my butt. My times are so s-l-o-w it’s laughable, but the point is to keep moving and come back slowly. Average heart rate of 107. 😹 Just looked at my MET and it was 3.7 which is higher than i would have thought. All that said, I need a real workout this weekend that isn’t walking. We’ll figure it out. I am doing calf raises, wearing inserts, using a TENS device and topical lidocaine for any aching. PSA: they have lavender scented aspercreme these days. Woot. Downside is that I think I prefer Icy/Hot but i didn’t want that on my foot while it was bound up in a sock and shoe. I miss my long meandering walks, so very focused on letting this heal.
Sun is starting to peek out, I hope we have an amazing sunny day with clear skies this afternoon. I’m going to be changing the water in my pool this weekend, including scrubbing the bottom and looking for a long lost paddle. Time to make some breakfast and get going!
Gorgeous cactus flower I saw last night. These usually only last a day or two. That’s it. I’ve been walking by this house for years and this is the first time I’ve seen that particular flower bloom. Last pic for Fritzy. Miss Summer has really come out of her shell recently.
Blob down, muscle meh, will work on that this weekend. Lots of gorgeous fruit in the house for eating. Love this time of year.

And blob is back. Short walks still due to stupid foot. It is getting better, but my max is about 2.5 miles and going kinda slow for me. Looking forward to this long weekend. A lot of work to do in the yard. Already did tonight’s rather short walk and going to have coconut shrimp for dinner. Mmm.
