Eringiffin's Logboek, 03 aug 19

The fancy scale is telling me that my muscle and bone density is going down and my fat composition is going up. Maybe I am not eating enough food. I'm going to continue to watch it for another week before freaking out.

I'm suspicious of scales that claim to calculate lean, fat, bone, fluid -- everything but the weight of your psychic aura and your soul! I've been weighed on a devices that had handles and a base you stand on but ... I dunno!

If muscle is going down and fat is going up- I would think eat less- not more and start lifting weights. But those scales aren't very accurate, IMO.

What are you eating and how much calories a day is it? 1500 calories should be a bare minimum for you. We are all different though.... I weighed 230 and loss 50 pounds in 4 months just eating 1500-1650 calories a day, but I made sure to eat alot of low cholesterol proteins like ham or well strained beef, occasionally chicken. You dont wamt to lose muscle or it is going to be harder to lose weight as muscle assists in the burning of calories. I hope this helps you.

Right now I'm chalking it up to a lack of faith in the scale. If I notice actual loss of strength, I may reconsider. I'm thinking it is a good idea to start measuring inches, as well. The reason I say I may be eating too little is that what might be occurring is my metabolism could be hunkering down and consuming muscle instead of fat in response to a drastic reduction in calories. I had been eating God only knows how many calories before I started tracking and a few days this week, I'm sure I only ate like, 900 - 1200 calories. I did much better today and incorporated some plant based protien. I need to plan better to make sure to get the minimum in.

Minimum protein per day should be around 50g
