after a 2 week hiatus, i finally did weight lifting yesterday. Couldnt stop drinking water all day either. Sleep last night was kinda rough. so, im going to do a walk now, then lunch....
QUESTION FOR YOU ALL-
is it better for you to exercise "fasted" or after eating a meal?
86,9 kg Tot nu toe verloren: 11,5 kg.    Nog te gaan: 0 kg.    Dieet gevolgd: Redelijk Goed.

Both ways have advantages. It depends on the exercise. Eating after a meal helps burn calories and stabilize your blood sugar. And you won't be prone to "bonking" fatigue. Working on an empty stomach can increase fat burning, increase energy, and accelerate weight loss plus you will probably not have gut problems, and have better blood sugar control but if you exercise for an extended period or strenuously it can cause bonking and performance issues. It can increase cortisol levels and cause hormonal imbalances, I have a high metabolism and did the latter for years with no ill effects but I tend to think younger people can get away with more. You can always choose to eat something light before exercise and after it. Or just test the waters and see what works for you.

True true. I got REALLY ravenous when i exercised fasted, and shaky! So i eat before hand now. Lesson learned. Plus, performance seemed so much less...

Eating a balanced meal that has plenty of carbs and protein about two hours before your workout is ideal. That way your glycogen is built up, proteins are ready to help immediately. That way you don't gas out during your workout. Then, after your workout, some quick protein, followed by a protein heavy meal to aid in recovery.

A very light meal (carbo for energy) prior to work out is best for me.

I always get my walk and exercise in while on my fast, burns stored fat that way!! Then break my fast with protein, veggie and fruit. Have a wonderful Friday and ENJOY your weekend 😀 😊
