Day 3 of a planned 5 day Fat Bomb Week
Blood sugar 88 mg/dL

👎🏾 Did I keep my net carbs below 10? No
👎🏾 Is my morning blood sugar in the 70s? No

I think the 💣 fat bombs during the day make me hungry. I waited until the late in the afternoon before I had my first one, then had another, then wanted my protein drink, so I had it (at least it wasn't potato chips!). I still went to the 🏋🏾 gym last night, but I am not surprised that there was no weight loss because I am STILL taking in large amounts of protein AND now large amounts of fat.

🤸🏾‍♂️ However, I am the happiest with my body than I have ever been in my entire life (including when I was a 👶🏾 kid)!

This is a bit ironic considering that I can’t seem to lose this last 10 pounds that I gained on my last bulk (because my program basically hasn't changed!). But, since I started 🏋🏾 lifting 180 lbs my muscles have gotten noticeably bigger. If I have 💪🏾 big muscles, and I am not fat, I’m good! 😎

🧘🏾‍♂️ So, I have decided, that for now, I am 'taking a break' on the 'aggressive' weight loss. After this 'fat bomb' week (that has me gaining a pound a day!) , I plan to go back to my no solid food fast during the week ONLY so I don't compulsively eat, not to lose weight fast.

Eating ‘compulsively’ is NOT fun before, during, and definitely not afterwards. Two days ago I compulsively ate an entire large bag of potato chips. Once I started, I could not stop until the bag was empty. When I go on a 5 day ‘no solid food fast’ I go 5 days without doing that. During the ‘no solid food’ fast I ‘may’ lose weight, but, since I am 'taking a break' (not sure how long this will last), I will allow myself to drink all the 🥛 protein drinks I want so I probably wont lose much if any weight.

😎 Life is good! - Have a great day everyone!

that is great both about your decision and about how you feel about your muscle development and how you look. If those are desert bombs they will trigger your hunger, if they have any sweetener in them. defeats the purpose of the test. I could not tell by your generic fat bomb entry. breakfast or lunch type fat bombs were what I intended by the suggestion. No sense switching sweeteners you fully enjoy the protein mix you already have. the concept was to have an alternative that gave your body a little energy for your runs and work outs as back up. I hope all is well with your mother and your high stress is relieved.

@Baskington - I totally agree that my 'lemon bombs' (with sweetener) defeated the benefit that real 'pure fat bombs' would have provided. I think the 'plan' was 'solid' , but, I 'suck' at this stuff :) Really, I do! If I fasted like a lot of the people on this site, it would only take 3 weeks to do a 'cut' and I would be back to 'bulking' by now, But, Nooo I have been in this 'cut' for nearly 3 months! Haha - - So instead of 'mentally stressing' myself I am just saying "Hey, all these 'unintended bulks' have allowed me to increase my weights, and my body looks GREAT, so what is my problem again??"

you have no problem in my mind, you are doing just fine. you wanted to lose weight. I agreed with your earlier statement, you did not need to lose weight but I thought that a long time ago. your weight lifting will take care of any access you were concerned about. once you hit maintenance like we have it is time to stop focusing on weight, forget it and focus on body shaping. We discussed this last week on my journal. I have a lot more fat to lose than you do and it will come off in its own good time if I eat properly and continue my exercise routines. no more dieting for me! you are already there!

Yeah don’t worry about the weight. You are in a good place (basically maintenance) and you are gaining a lot of muscle! If you notice actual fat gains, then worry about cutting out the protein shakes. Until then relax and enjoy the fruits of your labor!

Have you ever tested your bg after your shakes? Post prandial?

@Cb1006 - I have tested my Blood Sugar after the shakes and it only goes up a little bit and goes back down quickly. However, Dr. Jason Fung says that high protein can cause insulin production anyway. For me it is 'all about the insulin'.

@CrashtestDawnie - Yes I agree, so I am going to relax :) However, you saw where I described how I stress ate the potato chips? This was the second time in the past three days. I need to continue to work hard to avoid things like that.

yes I am testing the higher protein versus higher fat this week. my glucose stayed up nice and stable with no big dips most of the day. I was busy and I burned off 400 calories too since breakfast. fat does not drop my ketones, the higher protein definitely does. my glucose highest reading I have had is 4.9 which I definitely don't have a problem with. 10 hours after breakfast my glucose was 4.2 before I ate again. I think the fat burns off too quickly on me and I don't feel well on the lows my glucose gets too. all this being said, I don't think low levels of glucose is a good thing, especially for moods and activity. High ketone readings are good for healing.

@baskington - I haven't noticed how I feel when my glucose is low (has not been low for a few weeks). No when it is high (higher than normal), THAT does cause an emotional reaction when it inevitably falls.

how high to have bad effects?? I am watching myself and trying to see if I ever get high without sugar.

Glad you are taking the win! Awesome job with everything!!

Avoiding the carb binges is definitely the hardest thing to do. Especially while under emotional distress. So don’t be hard on yourself. Are you planing to do omad on the weekends?
17 okt 18 door lid: CrashtestDawnie
@CrashtestDawnie - Aaaatually I was planning on 'eating' on the weekends. Meaning, it appears (from the past two weeks) that I can 'high carb and high calorie' 1-2 days, hit the gym and running hard, and only gain 1-2 pounds. If I no solid food fast during the week it 'should' 'balance out'. - - Yeah this could totally go badly! If it does, I will go OMAD. Basically, all I want to do is Lift Lift Lift weights! and (so far) this seems to get me 'diet points' that allow me to eat more and get away with more than I ever had in the past. I'm all about 'spending some of those points :)

@baskington - When my Glucose gets to 120+ it will stay above 110 for an entire day. I am then in a 'diabetic state' and will experience all the bad stuff from high blood sugar (dizziness, cracked feet, swollen limbs, blurry vision, numbness in limbs). That's is why I laugh when people on the site keep insisting that high carbs are ok. For people like me it will land us in the hospital and kill us. If I consume high carbs there-will-be-no-weight-loss - - anyway, sorry for the rant :) :)

Ahhh well that is more fun! The eating, not the diabetic coma 😁😂👍

thank you, I pushed it yesterday and was up to 5.2 this morning a high for me. I will remember the number.

That is so true about compulsive eating, thanks for sharing, keep on trying and never give up, we all have days like those, I'm praying for you, have a good rest of your day, stay encourage, focus, prayerful, and thankful.

Pounds smounds... you summed it all up when you said "I am the happiest with my body than I have ever been in my entire life..." enough said! Who cares if the scale says 80 or 580. If you are fit, healthy, feel good, and are happy with your body, YOU WIN!
